Today is filled with sadness,
As I think about the price you paid,
When you sent your son, Jesus
To take our place on a cruel cross,
At a place called Calvary.
It must have caused you an unthinkable pain,
As you watched your son,
Pay for our sins that day.
We want to tell you today that we love you,
We are so thankful for what you did just for us.
And now we can come boldly into your throneroom
And speak with you, and you can speak to us
Because you gave us the power to become your
sons and daughters.
We are in such awe of what just one drop of blood
Is capable of doing.
That day, Jesus paid the price forever,
For all mankind.
You said, that you loved us so much, that you gave your only son,
That "whosoever" believes in him, should not perish, but have
Everlasting life.
You also said that you came that we might have an abundant life.
We thank you with every fiber of our being, oh Heavenly Father.
This day, and always we stand in remembrance of the blood.
And even though it is a sad day, in so many senses, it's bitter/sweet
Because we know what happened on the third day.
Glory be to the Father and his son Jesus.
